



The term "Emergent learning" best explains the continual partnership between staff, parents and children, about subject matter, children's interests and their current knowledge. In the role of ”researcher”, the teacher records and analyzes children’s conversations to identify their understandings, interest and beliefs about specific topics. In collaboration with either children, assistants or parents/carers, the teacher plans a possible project. Investigations may include the whole class or may be created independently and spontaneously by children during outdoor and indoor play.
Several benefits of this type of learning include;
Portfolios- Each child in 4-5YO Preschool has a portfolio which contains specific learning outcomes, photo documentation of experiences at kinder, and samples of artwork. This portfolio is presented to the child at the completion of the preschool year.
