Kindergarten Readiness
Not all children are ready for the kindergarten experience, even if they are eligible to attend...
 Research and teacher experience suggests:-
  • Children born between January and April of the year they turn three, benefit much more from:
                               -Starting 3-4 Year Old Kinder during the year they turn four;
                               -Starting 4-5 year Old Preschool in the year they turn five.

Children must be at least five years old by April 30th, in the year they are commencing school, but are entitled to commence school in the year they turn 6.
 Starting 3-4YO kinder in the year your child turns 4 is better because-
  • Your child has an extra year to gain self-confidence & improved concentration span;
  • Toilet training will be more established; children should be toilet trained
  • Speech will be clearer-better articulation;
  • Offers your child the chance to 'manage well' rather than 'just cope';
  • Your child will be one of the eldest - more mature and able to cope with the demands of high school;
  • Probably more able to cope with peer groups, conflicts and frustrations.
